Bob has over 35 years of experience cultivating his structural design skills in response to the demands and intricacies of a highly diverse construction community, from luxury homes in Aspen to industrial plants in Rifle. He is especially experienced in difficult conditions often encountered in mountain environments, such as settlement and expansion prone soils, slope stability problems, heavy snow loads and seismic issues, and has also specialized in forensic investigations of structural failures and their remedies.
Bob attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and received a Bachelor’s degree (with honors) in Civil Engineering in 1975. He became a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado in 1979.
Bob is licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the American Wood Council (AWC). He has served as a Director on the board for the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC) and participates as an active member of the SEAC Snow Loads Committee. He is also a member and supporter of the Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Club.
In his free time, Bob and his wife Marci enjoy foreign travel and visiting their two sons and daughters-in-law, as well as hiking, sailing, foraging and cycling together. Bob is an avid telemark skier and has appreciated the subtleties of fly-fishing for many years.
