The Sopris Lodge at Carbondale is an independent and assisted living campus located steps away from downtown Carbondale. Structures included in the project are independent living apartments and assisted living/memory support residences. The location is ideal for those seeking mountain living and community engagement.
The two-story independent living apartments, approximately 33,000 s.f., has 27 units and incorporated glulam architectural V‐columns and long cantilever roof over an elevated exterior deck. The two-story assisted living and memory support residences, approximately 32,000 s.f., has 47 units and consists of conventional wood-framed construction on a steep site with terraced foundations to minimize excavation. Also included in this project was a 2-story vaulted communal space, retaining walls, pre-engineered bridge, and civil road and landscape improvements.
